Workshop on 6G Standardisation and Research Vision
(IEEE ICC)

The IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2025, held from June 8 to June 12 in Montreal, Canada, served as a major international forum for innovation and collaboration in communication technologies. With more than 2,500 attendees, ICC continues to be a leading venue for advancing research in networks and systems. Several projects under the SNS JU, such as ADROIT6G, 6G-BRICKS, 6G-DALI, and SUNRISE-6G, actively participated in the conference, contributing to scientific and policy-related discussions on the evolution of 6G networks.

Workshop on 6G Standardisation and Research Vision
6G-BRICKS also took part in the workshop titled “The Path Towards 6G: Standardisation and Research Vision.” This workshop brought together a broad coalition of SNS JU projects, including ADROIT6G, 6G-INTENSE, FLECON-6G, 6GREEN, SUPERIOT, SUNRISE-6G, 6G-DALI, HORSE, PRIVATEER, 6GARROW, and the ACCC AC3 project. The session aimed to bridge the gap between advanced research and the standardisation strategies required for 6G deployment both in Europe and internationally.

A keynote speech by Prof. Rahim Tafazolli CBE, titled “A Realistic Path to 6G,” set the stage for discussions about technology roadmaps, regulatory alignment, and research collaboration.
